How many cats are in the picture?

In the picture, which was shared on Imgur by
Natural_Distortion on Saturday, the ginger cat sits in the
sun while the black shape next to it adopts the exact same
pose. H undreds of people debated which animal was real
and which wasn't. Which animal do you think is real? How
many cats do you see? Is that 1 cat and a shadow or 2
